In each Priva enews we let one of our international dealers tell their story in our dedicated ‘Dealer Talk’ section.
What’s your name and what is your position within the organization?
‘I’m Dmitry Volfson, Managing director at Schetelig BEL, which is part of one of the three business units that comprise the Schetelig Group. The headquarters are based in Finland.’
What country is your company based in?
‘Our company is based in Minsk, the capital of Belarus. The horticultural sector in our country is relatively small; there are only 200 hectares of greenhouse overall, but no less than half of it consist of companies that have incorporated Dutch high tech solutions into their businesses.’
What services and products do you offer?
‘We sell and service a full range of supplies for the greenhouse growers and all greenhouse systems. But we’re also involved in turn key greenhouse projects.’
Of all the Priva products or services that you offer which is the best selling, and why?
‘The Priva NutriFlex and the Intégro processcomputer, and combinations of the both. They prove to be the best solutions in the market and they are very reliable.’
What is the best project that you have worked on with Priva to date?
‘An educational project for the governmental National science research laboratory of sugar beet, situated in Nesvizh. A Russian greenhouse builder built this research station. We were asked to advise on and incorporate a solution for the climate and irrigation control. Our project supervisor discussed this request with Priva and together we came up with a proper plan that included an Intégro process computer for twelve greenhouse compartments, a NutriFit for the irrigation and a Vialux HD/UV for disinfecting the drain water.’
What do you see as being the most important development in the horticultural market in your country at this time?
‘New high tech horticultural projects are being set up every year, the Belarus government being one of the main investors. It seeks to develop the horticultural sector as it is aware of the potential for the country as a whole.’
What is your biggest challenge for the future?
‘To became a strong, if not the strongest, Priva dealer in Belarus. We have recently started the after sales service for our customers, which gives us a better basis in the competition with other players in the market. Furthermore, Priva products themselves are a master card for us.’
